About the Job

We are looking for a graphic designer to join our marketing team at head office in Victoria, BC. Full-time, Monday to Friday. You will be working closely with our marketing team, and 30+ world renowned bathroom and kitchen product manufacturers, to promote our companies and products we sell.

Starting wage is $50,000-$55,000/year. Wages may be scaled with relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare sketches, layouts, and graphic elements for:

    • Digital marketing (google & meta ads, social media, email, websites, etc.).

    • Traditional marketing (magazines, newspapers, billboards, flyers, promotional swag items like shirts or mugs, event materials, etc.).

    • Internal communications (email, flyers, invitations, events, etc.).

  • Consult with our team, vendors, and staff to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communication/marketing materials.

  • Determine the best medium to produce desired visual effects to encourage customer behavior, share company communications, enhance brand values, etc.

  • Campaign coordination (either in house or with a media/advertising partner).

About You

This position suits an analytical, creative, and team-oriented graphic designer with a strong understanding of traditional and digital marketing. The successful applicant possesses excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a drive to push our marketing to new limits.

As part of our standard hiring process, you must be eligible to work in Canada.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of professional experience in graphic design.

  • Advanced with Adobe Suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop, experience with InDesign and XD a bonus).

  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills.

  • Strong research, analysis, and decision rationalization skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

  • Strong team player and proven self-starter.

  • Ability to learn and adapt to feedback.

  • Attention to detail.

Desired Skills

  • Post-secondary education in graphic design, marketing, communications, or similar.

  • Experience with user interface and/or user experience design. Bonus to applicants with a deep understanding of WCAG accessibility guidelines and how to apply them.

  • Experience creating animated and/or interactive HTML5 ads for PPC/Display.

  • HTML and/or CSS knowledge is an asset.

  • Experience creating, planning, or managing traditional advertising.

  • Experience with Shopify, WordPress, Mailchimp, and/or Klaviyo.

  • Experience in plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, waterworks, fire protection, or other wholesale distribution industries.
